LA Times just launched a redesign.
While it’s an improvement from the previous incarnation, my biggest gripe is the links are indistinguishable from the text. Visited links don’t change colors either. And Jakob Nielsen can’t stop rolling his eyes. His basic guideline for visualizing links:
To maximize the perceived affordance of clickability, color and underline the link text. Users shouldn’t have to guess or scrub the page to find out where they can click.
It’s interesting the direction LAT decided to take: making the site look like the paper.
