Tale of Two Papers

Last week after the Celts manhandled Kobe and the Fakers, I went over to the front door of latimes.com and boston.com to make a quick comparison that night of Game 6:

Boston Globe:

Sure, Kobe’s bitch-ass face is priceless and sorta self-explanatory, but come on now, that’s it? LA, you just uploaded a picture of Kobe? Ya gotta do better than that. Granted the Lakers did lose the game, but man, some really basic photoshop skills are lacking. Boston went the extra mile and actually put up an image that is completely self-explanatory. You get the damn score and you know who fuckin won the game. People’s attention span is incredibly ruthless and it shouldn’t be a guessing game.

Man, Boston even updated their logo that night:

Whenever there’s talk about the impending death of the newspaper, it’s really about the disconnect and widening gap between the print and the internets.
